creating clothes for lakes love...

creating clothes for lakes baby doll
felt and stitching and that's not all
a smiley face and a dress of blue
happy sweet lake...this is for you!!

this is such an easy project...
first i drew a simple dress shape tracing around the baby with her laying on copy paper.  i then added about 3" to that on all sides of the body and the arms to account for the round shape of the baby and for the small seams.  you will need to make the pattern way bigger than you think... :D  i cut out the dress shape.  next i wrapped the paper loosely around the baby to make sure i had made it big enough.  next i cut a front of the dress piece and a back of the dress piece out of felt from the paper pattern.  i added pom pom trim, rick rack, ribbon and stitches and a simple smiley face to the front of the dress...another of lake's requests!!  i used a simple running stitch to connect the front to the back.  i then cut the back piece from top to bottom.  i cut two slits for buttonholes and added two buttons...fun fun!!  you should try it!! :D
